In this month’s advisor interview, we visited with the newest member of the Beacon Wealth Consultants advisor team, Tim Kitchell, as he reflected on the Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) Movement, his dedication to his clients, and why he is excited to work with Beacon Wealth.
Question: What excites you most about being a part of the Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) movement?
Tim: BRI puts even more power in the hands of the investor. Today the majority of investors are not sure where their money is actually invested. Other than perhaps knowing the names of the funds they are in and what the returns are, individual investors know very little about the actual companies they own. This“bottom line” focus affords companies without good morals to benefit from a sort of “blind investing.” BRI allows morally responsible investors to promote their values by investing in companies who share those same values and build their businesses around them.
By introducing BRI to the Pennsylvania and Maryland markets I hope to start a movement of Christians and other morally responsible investors finding power through investing wisely again. When we invest God’s money to glorify Him, we align our money with our beliefs and the impact is extremely impactful throughout the world.
Question: What type of environment do you hope to create when working with clients?
Tim: The environment will be personal, one on one. After 10+ years of Wall Street I have come to really appreciate knowing my advisor personally and being able to meet with him face to face on a regular basis. The big firms have lost this personal connection and have built call centers all throughoutthe world to ensure their clients get a response, but the response is generic and completely impersonal. My environment and my advising is tailored to each client individually; and I am always available for my clients to reach out directly.
I also believe wholeheartedly in the power of positivity. An environment that offers a consistent positive outlook, will produce positive results. Coupled with our positive values investing strategy, I expect our clients to really enjoy an enjoyable and mutually profitable experience.
