willson Our TeamRick Laymon is the President & CEO of Beacon Wealth Consultants, Inc., which he founded in Stuart, Florida in 1997 and later relocated to Roanoke in 2000. Rick is a graduate of the University of Illinois and holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) designations from the College for Financial Planning in Colorado. He also recently passed the rigorous exam to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional. Additionally, Rick was among the first advisors to be awarded the Qualified Kingdom Advisor designation by Kingdom Advisors CEO Ron Blue. He is an Associate Member of The Stewardship Alliance, an organization providing Gift Planning, Estate Design, and Legacy Coaching services to the donors of national Christian ministries. Rick works primarily with the firm’s high net worth, business owner, and Legacy clients, and at building a growing organization of like-minded advisors.

Outside of the office, Rick spends much of his time playing with and learning from his two children, Bethany and Carson. He also enjoys reading, traveling, hiking and kayaking. Rick currently worships at St. John Lutheran Church in Roanoke. LinkedIn


Cassandra Chandler is our Executive Vice President & Director of Strategic Development, and serves clients from our Iselin, NJ office. Cassandra holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and an MBA, both from Rutgers University. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and is currently pursuing the Qualified Kingdom Advisor designation. She is also the author of The Retirement Game for Nurses (available online through Amazon and Barnes & Noble).

Prior to joining BWC in January 2012, Cassandra owned her own financial services practice. As a former health care executive, she previously managed Education and Organizational Development for a 5,000 employee health care system where her responsibilities included strategic planning, team and leadership development, meeting design and facilitation, and patient satisfaction. These skills, coupled with her passion for lifelong learning, have greatly equipped her for her present role leading strategy and developing client education at BWC.

Cassandra spends her free time encouraging her son Sam in his debate team and community theatre activities. She is an avid golfer and enjoys reading, playing the piano, and traveling. Cassandra and Sam attend Allentown Presbyterian Church in Allentown, NJ.

 

Wade Johnson is our Director of Operations & Chief Compliance Officer. Wade joined the BWC Team in April of 2008. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, recently earned the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) designation and is a licensed instructor for Crown Financial Ministries. In his current role, he is in charge of compliance supervision and oversees the back-office operations of the firm.

Wade enjoys hiking, theology, house projects, growing orchids, and running with his bride Emily. The Johnsons worship at Calvary Memorial Church in Roanoke and welcomed their first child Caroline into the world in February 2011.

 

Matt Reeve is our Client Services Manager. As such, he serves as the first point of contact in coordinating client service needs, in addition to designing and managing the BWC client experience. Before joining our team in January 2012, he worked as a sports editor and news journalist for a local newspaper and, most recently, as a staff accountant. He is a 2006 graduate of Roanoke College where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He and his wife, Megan, live in downtown Roanoke. Megan is currently in the process of earning her Master’s Degree in Education Counseling at Virginia Tech.

Matt loves working with people, especially children. One of his favorite activities outside the office is coaching youth soccer. He also enjoys playing golf, running, reading, and spending time with friends. He and Megan are very involved at Christ Our Redeemer Community Church where Matt serves as a deacon and church treasurer.

 

Kimberly Jenkins is our Marketing Coordinator. Kimberly joined the BWC team as a summer intern in March 2011. She is a senior at Liberty University where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing. Upon graduation in May, she will also have met the educational requirements to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM exam.

She is a life-long resident of Franklin County and attends Eastlake Community Church in Moneta when home from college. She enjoys singing, playing the piano and guitar, reading, craft projects, and just being outside. 

 

Warren Fish is our Senior Wealth Advisor in our Canton, Ohio office. He has been in the financial planning services field for over 20 years, and has worked with several non-profit organizations for over 30 years in various capacities, including bringing a biblically based focus regarding finances. He is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, and holds the FINRA General Securities Principal license.

He and his wife Diane have been married for 43 years and have three sons and and five grandchildren. He enjoys hunting, woodcutting, reading, and doing remodeling projects around the house.

Warren’s greatest joy comes from seeing people come to understand that God is the source of all wealth and that we have the responsibility to use it wisely and then providing guidance to facilitate a biblically based plan. 

 

Kendra Harvey joined Beacon Wealth in September of 2011 as a Wealth Advisor in our Lynchburg, VA office.  In addition to being an Investment Advisor Representative, her experience includes a strong background in the Life and Health Insurance industry. Prior to entering financial services, Kendra spent eight years as the owner of an art company that represented artists on a national and international scale.

Kendra and her husband Brian live in Bedford, VA and have five children.  Her husband is currently a student at Liberty University where he is completing his seminary degree.  The Harveys enjoy frequent trips to visit family in North Carolina.

Kendra’s greatest passion comes from serving people.  She is a volunteer swim coach at the Bedford YMCA and helps produce community art events.
